cut the cone off of the vf3 inner plate, lap sanded it smooth, bolted it to my billet intake base, reached thru and scribed a line, then using an air dremel (< saweeeet) of my buddies,
port matched the 2 pieces for nice even flow, got it all on the bike, and seems to be running better, airscrew 1 turn out, still gonna fool with jetting, but she at least revs cleanly now, so all in all, ya do need that plate in the reed cage, but do not need the cone thingy, at least not with my billet base intake
