v force 3 install???

I would see if you can't find the Pro Design intake manifold built just for VF3's. This whole piece that has been giving you Hell is the 'stuffer block' for the VF3 reed cage. Stuffer blocks are used to reduce the volume of the reed cage, so that there is not a sudden change in size of the intake tract between the carburetor and the crankcase. You can actually run the engine without this stuffer block even being used; throttle response and tunability will suffer a bit, but it will run until you can find a permanent solution to the problem.

good one freek good one...whatever you say bro i forgot your the blaster master and u know it alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

i believe it will work cut off, but prolly gonna try to port my billet base to accept it, an intake is cheaper than new reeds if i fuk it up

do what makes you feel good man......if need be and makes you feel better get the other boot

it looked to me that this piece really cut down the intake area of the whole reed cage, and that had some to do with me leaving it out, i did notice that was angus' flikr page with the pics, yb did you talk to him about this cutting and opening it up deal, sounds logical, ya wanna port evrything else, why would this be any different???? what was his ideas on this????

I ran into the same problem during my build. I got the wrong pro design intake. Now, what my engine builder told me was that you don't want to modify the plastic cone and you'd be better off modifying the intake. I just said screw it and baught a different intake. If you mess up your pro design intake, shoot me a pm and I'll make you a deal on another one!

i may just try to make a whole new base, so i dont fuk up this one, and if it works i'll put the stock sized boot back on the p-d base and sell it, but i'm still interested to see what angus found with cutting and porting the "stuffer"

hmm never seen that peice, must be a blaster thing. banshees dont use it neither do LT250r's my VF2's (lt250r) dont have that, and my bros VF3's (banshee) dont either....id say get a different intake or different reed cage....dont cut that boot/half moon thing....its there for a reason, people will argue their beliefs......

idk if that helps..lol

I will post up some helpful info Saturday
Does it really mater, some members actually believe that R and D work is done slinging mud in the back yard... They seem to have no clue or just act that way......

upon further inspection, this nozzle thingy on the v-forces has the exact shape, angle and inside diameter as the inside of my pro-design billet plate, and seems porting the billet plate to match, leaving the plastic piece, is only gonna create a lip and cause air turbulance, think i'm gonna trim and shape the reed cage piece to the exact opening as my billet plate and rubber boot, which will leave the base that snaps into the reed cage, so all 3 pieces have a nice, smooth, same diameter hole going thru them, which should turn out to be the same inside diameter opening thats in the fiber plate at its base now???? just my intake acts like the cone thingy

i agree, i was askin ??? yesterday without even lookin at the sichi-ation, but knew i left that piece out, and someone else mentioned their reeds where moving backwards causing bogging without this piece in???
still waitin to see the r&d (mud shovelin) hahaha, on this though before proceding, too cold to f around today anyway
thanx to all who pitched in they're 2 cents
