UNI Air Pod???

Hey guys, New owner of a blaster (3 months) very excited!!! i owned a rm125 for about 7 years sold it a while back and finnaly picked up a cheap blaster. I've done some minor mods to mine already. Oil block off, tors eliminator, "(bought some vito's reeds and pro circuit exhaust(yet to be installed))" now im trying to upgrade my air filter so i can slap um all on and rejet once rather than a couple times. I havent been able to find a thread about this so here's my question... from what i can see the UNI airfilter is the way to go, but everywhere online im looking to buy one i either find the Air pod which looks to connect right to the carb instead of sitting inside the airbox, or just a uni airfilter that looks like the stock one... can anyone tell me if im correct or just a dumb noob lol and which one is better to run?

i'm running the one that looks like the stocker, and goes in the stock airbox

if you decide to do the clamp on type, make yourself a velocity tube (4-6")

Your a noob!! They do make em and the part number is NU-3225ST here a ebay link-YAMAHA 88-07 Blaster Uni Air Filter YFS200: eBay Motors (item 230499989995 end time Aug-15-10 11:49:07 PDT) If ya have the stock air box this is the way to go, If ya don't ride in alot of dust and water and mud (who doesn't?) then I'd do a clamp on with a velocity tube.

not to snake his tread but mine came with a twin on it(stock style) is it worth it to replace it with a uni

after considering the options I do ride where a Pod just wouldn't be practical, why do most the guys hate on K&N filters???

the uni filters at a better micron level, the k&n have a reputation of letting fine dust and sand past

another note a pod makes jetting difficult, i ran a stock style uni and i loved it and they are easy to clean/oil

I don't know about actually passing dirt like Brando said, but the reason I've gone mostly to foamies is they seem to not load up as fast, probably due to increased (internal) surface area. Plus I can buy two for the price of one K&N. I run UNIs, No-Toil, Twin-air, & K&N. Can't say I'm really picky. Outerwears are a nice addition.
