TRX250R vs 4-stroke 450s

I own both a 250r and a YFZ. I love my 250r to death, one of the nicest quads i've ever ridden but the 4 strokes are just easier to ride. The power on a 250 or any 2 stroke.. especially non-powervalved is just laggy. I love jamming gears into a corner... but on my 50hp yfz i also love coming out of the corners like crazy in 3rd gear. Different rides, both fun but the upper hand on the track goes to the torque and hp of the 4 bangers.

what mods did you do to that 450 to get 50hp? just curious.

depending on the dyno they can be 50 stock. ive seen hp numbers from 38ish to 50ish on stock 450's

A 12hp difference on a stock machine? Sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing.

You will be at a disadvantage, modern tracks are made to suite 450's, and 450's have a cc advantage, also the extra weight keeps them planted in the corners better.

but it can be done if you are a good rider and the set up isn't too pipey..

Whoops little overdue response. Running a 13.5:1 piston, hotcams, rossier exhaust, big flow filter, and porting.
