I just got a Blaster not long ago and had to have it rebuilt. I have to change the oil now and my Clymer`s manual says to put 650ml of oil in the tranny. I have a quart of BelRay 80W Gear Saver and it is not marked at 650ml so I pretty much guessed it. If you look in the oil window should it be half full or all the way full or what? Mine is now all the way full so I need to know if this is good or bad. thanks

I think it's supposed to be halfway in the window....at least that's how mine is!

Get an oil pan underneath the drain plug, loosen it up and position yourself so that you can get to the plug and see the window at the same time. Let a little oil out until you can see the top of the oil level and then tighten it up.

yeah you definately only want about half a quart in there . that should leave it about half way up the window.
if you over fill it you can blow your crank seal

there are two marks next to the little window, the oil's suppose to be between the two marks. the tranny holds about 3/4 of a quart

accually the clymer manual stats that 650ml should be used for the standard oil change the amount you need after a engine overhaul or when ever you take your case apart is 700ml

So thats why i had to put a little more in after rebuild .I normally just put 22oz but after rebuild i had to put a couple more oz.I:I

When I looked at the manual it calls for 10w30 engine oil in the tranny. I used a motorcycle engine oil that is suitable for operation with wet clutch packs. Regular motor oils such as many synthetics have friction modifiers that make them unsuitable for operation with wet clutches.

boy im i glad i changed mine water got in it somehow and the oil was likea diaree color(like what u get when u sh*t ur brains out) dont know how though//

u mean the vent tube that comes out right off to the side of the intake near the reeds? idk i think its from the house being in the front and it got water in it now i just put that hose in my airbox

... does your bike have a diaphragm carb?
if so that hose would more than likely send pulses to the carb to act like a fuel pump

(which in the photo below confirms this

there should be a vent towards the back of the tranny(usually in the back of the tranny but not necessarily) i was wrong**

check that plug and the piece in front of it (where it looks like a large hose would go)

If your oil is off color its because water got in it. I was riding my YZ85 and went to go through what I thought was a shollow puddle but the water was about to the seat which is 34 inches high. I hit a rut in it and layed it over so the bike died under water which made it suck alot of muddy water into my tranny. My brothers friend pulled me out of the trails with his CR125. I got home and took the head off to let water out and I drained my oil which barely wanted to come out because it was so thick and it was off whitish color. It still runs great though.
