Has anyone, or does anyone, offer larger gears ? or made different gears for the blaster tranny ?

Mign , I often see people mentinon, lack of top end speed. So I wondered if anyone has ever modded the tranny gears ? added a gar or removed. ect.

Transmission gears are a closely matched set. The gears on the two shafts much mesh perfectly and with the engagement dogs themselves so cutting replacements may be VERY difficult.

The primary drive gears (the crank snout end and clutch basket back gear) may be possible to be rearranged tooth count wise to change the final drive ratio.

Gearing, however, is a give and take arrangement. If you gear the engine "up" for more top speed you lose bottom end.

Plus, there's always the fact that it's MUCH easier to find different size sprockets than it is different internal gears....

Yes. I am full awhare of the give and take and I know milling and cnc machine is about the only way to make a gear, unless ya want to do cast, lol.

More interested if someone has done it. what the they all tinkered with. I placed this in ask a pro. because no average builder is going to be able to do this.

Perhaps no one since 1988 has done it on a blaster ??

Curious also,

Some have used the dt200 motor, are the gears the same or different ? and for those that used the gears from a dt200 motor. what was the differance ?
