I want to get a pull behind mower to cut my 5 acre "yard" the mower has 4 wheels and will have little to no weight supported by the quad itself. The question is can it pull a 400 pound mower around? The land is fairly flat with a slight slope towards the road but I would be mowing sideways across the slope. This is the type of mower just for reference. http://www.mowersdirect.com/Swisher...4DVH2E9GE6nZaIlAiVUIJCZbhQ8hTs5vSkRoCFaLw_wcB

on a air cooled engine i would be carefull
it will probably cost you the same amount of money in the long run
to buy a riding mower

Get a utility quad for that. Blasters are no good for pulling! i speak from experience.

i pulled my brothers blaster (450 pounds with him on it) was about 2.5-3 miles. much faster speed than you will be going, and my piston melted

air cooled quad - not a good idea
2 stroke under a load and not running high rpm of speed - not a good idea

bottom line - not a good idea

Definitely gonna burn up a Blaster trying to tow that. A friend of mine bought 2 mower decks similiar to that. He built bars and a tongue that space them about 4' apart. He pulls them with a tractor with a mower deck. He has about 4 acres of nicely manicured grass. He can make about a 14' pass at a time.

An air cooled engine does not like any hard work at low speeds, cooling is by air passing over and through the fins on the head and cylinder.

If ample air is not supplied the engine will overheat.
