Just joined the forum due to my recent purchase of a 2001 Blaster and was wondering what the TORS actually is and the benifits or removing it were... Any help would be appreciated and thanks for havin me...

the tors is supposed to shut down the fuel supply if the the throttle were to become stuck open, but it causes so many electrical problems, just disconect it for the cheap way, or get a kit and take the whole thing off if u want
So I take it, it is the electrical part of the block on top of the carb?? I'm sorry for my stupidity but just got the quad on Monday and was looking for some recommended mods... Haven't really looked at it much yet... Thanks for the reply though...
Here 'ya go! Watch and learn...The TORS system actually just shuts off the spark to the engine should the throttle slide get stuck open (it has nothing to do with cutting off the gas or fuel supply), but the system is prone to failure and causes more problems than it will ever prevent.

hahah yeh, i realized what i said after i typed it, too early in the morning lol, but definately a worthy mod, easier to do it in the garage, then trying to figure out what went wrong sitting in the trail

I still have the TORS, but it bit me in the ass last ride on a WOT stretch of road, but it was fine after that. That's the only TORS problem I've had, but honestly for the weight savings and ESPECIALLY for the easier jetting, it's worth it for the jetting ease alone. Yea, I'm a hypocrit....I just don't feel like spending money to remove it.

Hahaha, I was sick with a bad cold when I made that vid and couldn't breathe! Yeah, I'm still here. For now!
At the very least unplug the box, costs nothing. I had a problem on the trail and it was just a little rain. Stoped and dried throttle few times. soon as I would touch throttle it would start to fart and snort, wouldn't get out of it's own way.
Thanks a lot for the video... Not having any experience with Blasters, this small amount of information has really helped me a lot... I have lots of experience with CR's and other two strokes but haven't had any experience with blasters!! Thanks again...
