I will not be running TORS when I complete my rebuild. Can I completely remove the "brain" and leave all plugs intact on the harness or do I need to remove all those wires from the harness? I rather not cut any wires at this time. Thanks guys

first of all what year is it?

88-02 you can just disconnect everything

the 03+ are a little more involved, but you can just use plugs from the components you disconnect to make jumpers and leave the harness itself intact

Yes, once you disconnect the 'brain' and the throttle/carburetor cap switches, you're good to go. You can tape up the plugs, or just cut them off where they go into the wiring harness. If you want to do the job completely (get rid of all the wiring), check out my vid in the DIY section. It goes step-by-step.
