Yes you can just pull off the brain box and unplug the two switches (throttle switch and carb cap switch). Once you take care of the electrics, here's how to do the cap kit:
After you get the cap kit installed, you WILL have to adjust the engine's idle speed with the newly-installed screw, but its not difficult. Warm it up and turn the screw in until the engine idles slowly, but smoothly, with no pressure on the throttle lever.
Mine didn't come with a drill and tap. We have some in the garage but why do I have to put a new idle adjustment screw in? Do I screw the old screw in all the way?
I know this thread is kinda old but where can i pick up just the screw and tap, i bought a motion pro TORs eliminator kit and it didn't come with them.
yep, other than that's a pic of banshee kit, it shows two screws and you will only receive one. Take your time, easy to fubar carb. 1/2 turn in, back off 1/4 turn to clear chips, etc, etc. Be sure to use cutting oil or something.
