checking in! The tornado which hit Sanford and took out the Lowe's store rolled on through north Raleigh about 10 miles south of my house on it's total 63 mile track.
Once I saw the storm path taking it south of my house I went out on the porch and watched the storm roll through. It was raining at one point so hard I couldn't see the trees arcoss the two lane road from my house and then it started hailing.
i fared pretty well. it kind of skirted us, but we were under the gun the entire time. gotta little rain, but it was nerve racking for sure. hope everyone else is okay too.
the news i just watched showed an area in the north west corner of north carolina, kinda in the gerneral vicinity of busco, < from what i remember going there last year and looking at the map, and i know a few of our bro's live close to there
Checking in. East of Raleigh escaped like Oj. One tornado went right next to where I work in Raleigh. I'm happy it didnt level the place like it did next door. What a sh*tty monday that would have been to go to work to no job...
Conquest is still kickin too
I was mowing the grass in the wind,lol.. Tornadoes hit east and west of me but i didnt get no hail or no damage. I think about 22 people died in NC but my house got no damage. I was lucky this time around. I:I
We had a tornado hit Van Wert, OH back in 02. I actually saw this same tornado as I was in Van Wert getting ready to go to the movie theatre that was hit with some friends. We actually chased it for a while and got fairly close......not quite this close though I:I
I live in kansas and know twisters all too well. ive had one hit right behind my highschool in 99 and it impacted several ppl i know. almost got my house too.
The recent tornados are nothing compared to the two or three earthquakes which hit japan a month ago... 22 dead is not good but think of how many died there. At least the people here who had their houses knocked down have somewhere to go, be it friends, family or a shelter of some sort. The japanese have no where to go since everything is smashed in so many villages.
