toomey kit question

hey,
i am gonna get the toomey kit real soon and i was wondering what the difference between using the airbox vents and just taking the lid off will make. is it worth taking off the airbox lid and taking on more dirt and water or will the vents have just as much of a benefit? thanks

it isnt gunna make a difference for water, it is still gunna get in there, and the screens wouldnt do too much imo, i would just get a prefilter or cover, or whatecer you wanna call it...

what i was asking is if the gain from the airbox lid being gone vs the vents is worth it i know i would need a 320 or 330 instead of the 310 they give you

Anytime you can suck more air and fuel into a motor (in the proper ratio) you are going to make more power. Whether you are really going to get any more airflow from having the lid off or just having holes (vents) in the lid is debatable though. I would say try it both ways with the jet they send you and check your plug to find out. I put a lid with holes back on my race blaster to keep out some of the large stuff, without needing to jet back down.

Hi, when i give my blaster to my mecanic for install this exhaust he said that the vents is a good idea but without the air box is much better But you have to clean more the filter.

pod filter is more water susceptible, and you can do the exhaust yourself, its just a few bolts.... and we can help ya with the jetting

Ya man u gotta dive in at somepoint. Exhaust is 4 bolts a clamp and a spring then you just have to jet
