Hi im wondering whats the best way to remove crankshaft bearings etc without a tool and also best way to split cases without tool

cheers

to get the crank bearings out a large socket and some light taps with a hammer should take it out. it helps to heat the case(not the bearing) with a torch first have the case on a nice flat/soft(not metal or stone, wood will work.). to split the cases a steering wheel puller can be modified to work it's just a basic puller really.

minimum u need a flywheel puller and a puller for the cases. if u have them pulling these motors are a walk in the park, after pulling out the crank the bearings are just a simple tap to remove

thats fine guys :) iv got a fly wheel puller, clutch tool just need to get a crank case splitter and i should be fine lol engine might be getting done sooner than i thought if it doesn't start behaving and run properly ! lol

to replace the crank you need a crank installer/puller tool.

i dident use one of these when re installing my used crank after changing the seals, i just sort of tapped the case lightly around as the cases seated togeather then worked around tightening it down. we dident have an installer althoo i think i should be getting one here soon

Not a recommended process!
