So today for fathers day my old man wanted to go and fire some rounds with the families collection of handguns. Total we have 5:
Sig Sauer P226 .40 S&W
Glock 35 .40 S&W
F&P/F&H .45 ACP
Ruger SR9 9mm
Smith & Wesson .38 Special Compact Revolver (for Mom)

We've all been shooting for almost 2 years now so we've been getting pretty good. We just got the .38 Special Revolver for Mom on Mothers Day. We all hate it. Going to sell it on Gunbroker and then maybe get a sub compact glock or ruger for her. The .38 Special in a revolver hurts your hand after shooting off a 5 round cylinder.... Anyway, we had 2 lanes and had the Glock and Sig Sauer in one lane, the Ruger, Revolver, and the F&P in the other. I decided to test my skills out on a 12" x 18" Target. It was a 3 silouette target, one full sized one in the center, and 2 small ones next to it. The one in the center was the "Hostage" and the outer ones were the "Bad Guys". So I had to shoot both outer guys and save the hostage. But, the tricky part was that I set the target up at 42 feet away. I went in the lane with the Glock and Sig Sauer and started poppin some caps off. Here are the results:

As you can see the hostage is dead but pretty good for 42 feet!

One way to hone your skills is to slowly move the distance back about 5 feet every clip, and that's the quickest and easiest way to get good fast, start at about 25 feet then move back 5 feet after every clip like I said. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all its just what I did the last time I wanted to perfect my skills shooting, I hope it helpedI:I

I appreciate the advise and would deffinately use it but the club we go to has specifec settings for the target distances. Theres 5 distances that are pre-set at certain feet. I cant control it to go 5 feet father every clip. Good advise though

Do you know of another range that you can push the Target back and forth? Or you can make your own at each distance 5 foot farther away each time and just move to each one after a clip, just a few things to help u try out my idea. Hope it helps.

not bad.. needs some work but not bad... when your target shooting like that alot of it comes down to memory.. if you know you had a clean shot on the 'bad guy' memorise where you aimed and try to repet it, keep it up and you should be able to get a nice tight grouping in no time
