Well i ride realllly tight trails and open places so its kinda a mix but no racing at all unless you cant friendly drags. Should i keep my tether or not? anyone else use a tether when trail riding?
tether is an added safety feature. u can never go wrong when it comes to more safety. unless it slows u down then it sux. ive considered it my self. I had my quad violently dump me in the sand while in the top of 3rd shifting to 4th. it ran off standing straight up and i had to walk like 80ft to get it back.lol
IT Just annoys the piss out of me i forget its clipped on when i get off and i forget to pop it on when i start it after its been in the garage lol. I just want some confirmation to keep it. lol
I have it but I've never needed it since I 've had it I've only crashed like once and a half in the past 6 years I've been riding. Just do whats confortable for you. I plan on racing it so I have to have it.
keep the tether, i neevr wore mine before, i was doin some hardcore trail riding, and i decided to wear it, well, i caught a stump in 4th gear, flipped off, it i wasn't wearing the tether the quad would went over me into a tree.....
Out of the 5 quads we have 3 have them. My banshee because its to fast not to have it if for nothing else to protect others if it were to get away. 2 polaris predator 90's that the kids ride have the stock ones they came with and I make them wear them, they have the velcro wrist strap. 2000 blaster that will soon be rebuilt and upgraded for the wife does not have one YET. 1986 honda four trax 250r that im trading for a 2003 blaster for my oldest boy and should pick up by next friday does not have one but will by saturday. He doesnt know that he is even getting it, should be a great shock when the boys get them out to ride saturday. If you dont wear tethers for you wear them for the other people around you that would not even know something was headed at them. I had a throttle cable pull out of the end on my banshee ridding in the dunes. All but 3 strands, the rest frayed and had it pinned wide open. I had to ride back to camp using the gears and hills to keep it at moderate power. Just my .02
