So i have a tiny tach and just wonderin if the readings i get should be cut in half, I mean it says around 3200 - 3400 at idleing and i know for sure its not goin that fast. Manuel says around 1400 i think. What do yall think?

I have one too is it the one from ebay? Yea sometimes its on and sometimes its reading double.i got it for the hourmeter and the tach was there so i hooked it up.i tried it in a few different engines and the only one it worked accurately on was my 5.0 that runs an hei ignition.the mower,110 chinese quad, kdx all were reading higher dont know why.

Bought it from Cabela's a few years ago. If you hook it up to a briggs, its accurate, but i've put it on 2 different 2 Strokes and it seems to read double.

You need to find one that works on a 2 stroke engine , there are different configurations for single cylinder engines as well . Try to find a set of instructions and see what it says .
Back in my street racing days the fad was to have a huge monster tach and shift light so bright you absolutely knew when you missed a shift and those tachs had multiple set ups . I had a 1994 integra and since it was a 4 banger I had to cut 2 wires on the harness of the tach and connect it to the ignition coil etc etc but for a different engine of different size the connections were again different

mine has a setting for 2-4 strokes.im not sure if its the same as yours then.

mine doesnt read accurate either its double too so do what i do and when you see youre approaching 18,000rpm shift.
