Pull the line off your carb and open the fuel tank valve to see if gas is flowing freely.
I'm more inclined to believe it's fuel related problem then a bad stator.
Pull the bowl off your carb and clean the fuel inlet viton and make sure it's not stuck.
To check the stator you need the specs from the book and check them via a volt/ohm meter.
The gas does flow out of my tank freely and I have already taken the carb apart once and cleaned it but i will take it apart again tomorrow and try to clean it once more and look around the fuel inlet.
I've seen this over and over again in lots of machines, for one reason or another your not getting gas.
It most def is carb related. You might have a clogged carb circuit/passage.
You can rule the carb out by running a pipe cleaner though all the passages inside or simply using a known good carb (Don't know how easy that would be for you to get to).
My second guess is it's spark/electrical related. This is harder to troubleshoot.
A weak spark would cause this. It could be as simple as a bad plug wire to plug connection or it could be a bad stator, cdi, or coil.
I always go the simple cheapest route first
OK I got it figured out, after some research last night I found a bunch of articles on how the parking brake switch could have been the culprit. Since i just rebuilt my rear caliper I figured it would be worth a shot to check it out. I went out jiggled my parking brake cable and WHAM everything runs beautiful again. And I have a nice clean carb and TORS to boot. I:I
Thanks again everyone for the advice!!
