I have a 1998 blaster with a mikuni carb and a screw on cap.
When I bought the quad there was a vortex throttle on it. I replaced
It with a stock thumb throttle and a motion pro cable, but I'm having
Trouble getting the right cable, motion pro p/n 01-0874 is what I have
and is described to be exactly what I need, but the cable is to short.
The carb slide is open about 1/3 when the thumb is at idle. I tried all the little things to gain cable length but it just doesn't make it. I also went as far as to Confirm that the cable is to spec with motion pro. Does anyone know of a longer cable or a place were I can buy one.

Thank you

Let's see a picture of that carb. I had a bunch of issues not too long ago with my carb, a Mikuni 28mm and I had a hell of a time getting the right cap. Once I did though, my issues of cable length became a thing of the past. A picture will let us know if you need a different cap...which I'm suspecting might be the issue.

This is the carb and the cap.

I hate to comment on an old thread but im having a very similar problem. i put a 28mm mikuni carb from a yz80. i bought a throttle cable from vitos because they said it would work. its way too short. the only i could get it too work is if the bike would be wide open at idle. i emailed vitos about the problem. i was wonderung if anybody used a different cable of if i need to change the cap.
