I don't really blame the EPA. Quite frankly, if I was backing either side, I'd probably be on the EPA's side.

Closing down riding places does suck! We just lost a close place in pittsburgh, Ha snothing to do with quads however, bunch of assholes decided it's a good place to dump anything they want, including body's and burning stolen vehicles. The Railroad owns the property and i have been friends with them since i was a teenager, even volenteer when they have 'clean up the rivers day", Unfortunately the assholes who have there own buisness and don't pay taxes, or the fee to use the Dump, decided that this was there dumping ground, now in April it will be blocked off, Gated up and a 24hr cameras. I don't blame the railroad for this, I asked one of the workers if it would be possible to get a permit to ride- No way i was told, as they have had people go there and steal sh*t form the trains mostly scrap metal. I wish i'd hit the lottery for millions and but a mountain and turn it into a ride spot. Oh well Looks like AWK Mountain is the place to go and ride!!

There's usually a good reason why they shut down OHV land.

Usually it's something like what slick described and it does suck but what other choice do they have to protect land that would be all trashed up and destroyed otherwise?

Nobody wants riding areas limited (even "the other guys" actually) but sometimes it comes down to having a trashed up pile of junk or NOBODY using it. One bad apple can spoil the bunch...
