So, like the title say's I would like to talk about spark plugs. Let's hear everyone's opinions on brand prefrence's. Some pro's and con's of running a certin plug. I have always ran NGK plugs in my jet ski with good luck and that's currently what i'm running in my quad but would like to get some extra's for my weekend trip and want some opinions of other brands. I:I

gotta follow this thread, spark plugs been on my mind for a while now since a buddy put a chainsaw plug in my blaster for a coulpe days and it ran like it had 2x the balls, i only switched back to the b8es due to fear of f*cking something up lol

what would be the point of running a br9es? someone said before i might want to do that after i get my big bore on and all that new sh*t. didnt say why.

I run the NGK B9ES (NON resistor) when I trail ride and run the B9ES when I run it HARD!, the B9ES is a COLDER plug, modified engines often require them, you wont hurt your engine with a colder plug, it'll just foul out, if it does go back to the hotter one.

Some good information. I guess I was just curious to see if anyone ran one of those fancy multi electrode or iridum sp? plugs and if so did it make any type of noticable difference. I think I will just stick with the NGK though. They are a good value at three bucks and have never let me down.

I run the 9 because it's a colder plug and keeps my head temps down.
When you run a too hot plug it's possible that you raise the head temp up enough to cause pre-ignition or auto ignition. Both are bad and can cause a melt down not to mention run a run away throttle condition that the kill switch won't help.
For my set-up the 9 is the norm.
every # higher you go on th plug = approx 50 degrees temp. reduction in the head. When you go too cold you get oil fouling at idle and low rpms.

should i be running a br9es with my new setup? oh by the way, if you didnt see my other post, i love that motivational lol. crazy pipe.

Thanks bro!
Unless your overheating there's no need to goto a colder plug. It will run better with the hotter.
A 240 kit with a milled head will need a colder plug.

I tried the Iridium plug, it fouled just as fast or faster than the regular plug and I felt a power INCREASE with the standard plug! don't waist your $$$$$$$.

the heat range is how muhc porcelian insulator there is not how hot the spark arc gets so basicly you want to jet for 8es series plugs unless your on some exotic fuel and dont waste your cash on irridium plugs they suck .. be sure to gap them a little tighter for best results the platinum gv series ones are good too
