swingarm to frame pivot hole worn?

Putting all new new bearings in the swingarm pivot and when I put the long bolt through everything the hole in the frame tabs on both sides is larger in diameter than the bolt. Basically unless I tighten it real tight I can move the swingarm side to side. What really sucks is that my son and I didn't notice it on dis-assembly and the frame is sitting on a blanket with a fresh powdercoat on it. Of course prior to PC I fixed all the bad welds, etc... Seems like something always gets missed.
So anyone make or buy steel bushings to take up the slop?

by side to side, do you mean the swingarm moves along the bolt?
because you say the hole is worn which would mean the swingarm would have play in it, like you can wiggle it. just trying to make sure i and maybe others understand your problem.

I thought the same thing. He may just need to shim the side to side. I'll know more when we talk tonight.

Basically the hole in the frame is larger than the bolt, it must have been messed up from the last owner as the bearings came out in pieces and dust, so the frame was the pivot point. The hole is not egg shaped, just a bigger round hole than the bolt, thus the offending slop therien

OK, took some measurements. The hole on the frame tab is .642"
The bolt dia. is .619"

I can see where shimming under the left side metal cap on the swinger could make things better, it is a tad loose. I will try that tonight and report back, over and out.

OK shimmed it up and it does seem better. Even with the shim the swingarm wasn't that hard to fit in the frame so it definately needed it. Big thanks to Ken for the conversation and advice. Looks like it's going to be good with the shim. This is a full build so I will post some eye candy soon in the build section.
