Just bought a blaster for myself and g/f to play around on. I feel I got a real good deal on it localy. Its a 2003 blaster that still had the original oil (that mixes with the gas) in it. So needless to say its barely been ridden.. probably didnt have more then a couple gas tanks through it.

I'm going to be doing some searching around to see what I can do to this as far as improvements. So far Ive gotten some tires (maxxis sur trak), a new plug, and I am going to see about flipping the front tires to make it wider for starters! I was thinking about doing gears and a filter next. If anyone has any recomendations that'd be cool. I'll post pics later!

sounds like a good find and welcome to the site. Well what type of ridding do you do or better what are you looking to get out of the quad gearing wise more top speed? or more torque? i would suggest getting an oil block off and premixing it as one of the first things to do..

Welcome to the forum.
Keep in mind that since the 03' has disc brakes on the front the normal valve stem will hit the caliper if you flip the wheels. If you do decide to flip the wheels you will either need flush mount valve stems or you will need to re-locate the stem to the other side of the wheel via drilling a new hole and plugging the old one with an inverted valve stem. But If you don't have aftermarket a-arms its worth it. It handles a lot better

Welcome! I'd say one of the best improvements you can get is a pipe. Don't wase youre time with fmf, DG, or pro circuit. And you want to re-jet for you pipe also, otherwise it will run lean and fry your piston.

Lets see some pics!

even though he said dont waste your time with FMF an FMF pipe is a good replacement over stock. Especially if you are doing trail riding with a stock bike.
Other pipes like F7, Shearer, Dyno Port and LRD are good pipes for built engines. You wont get the full performance of the those pipes unless you have some upgrades!
