Ok im 6'3 220lbs and i want to stretch my blaster im looking to go 6-8 inches but that leaves me a few questions.

First will 8in be too much of a stretch on a blaster even with my size?

Second where do you get brake cables to accomodate the 8 in swinger?

How long of a chain would i need to make a 8 in swinger work?

With a 400ex shock and a 8in stretch will it be too low?

Im definately wanting/needing it longer its a wheelie machine with my big ass on it.Id like to race it in the summer time on the local 1/8 mile track and id like to be able to dump the clutch and not wheelie over backwards.

Plus i just look like a monkey fxxking a football on it.Needs a stretch.

i would go no further than +4 on a dual purpose machine, and i believe a banshee chain works for that length
a wheelie bar is the answer for the track, talk to one of our drag racers, they pretty much all have removeable wheelie bars
somewhere on here is a "diy" for moving the back plastics back allowing more leg room

agreed a +4 is the most I would go on the trails. You can get some aftermarket a-arms and get the +1 forward for another inch. I am not to far off of yourb weight and height and ride this setup for awhile now and have no problems looking like a monkey fuking a football !!! hahahahaha It is actuall very comfortable.

One of the best things about a Blaster is that it's small, but I have long legs and without raising the seat I'll always feel folded up on a Blaster.. What they said ^^^^ +4 & +1 ... might also try rotating the bars forward for a bit more arm room.. The grips will be at a wierd angle but would give the feel of it.. Might be able space the top steering stem bearing forward & tweek the bottom one..
I made an anti-vibe adaptor that allows me to move the bars forward a couple inches but it does change the steering feel somewhat, moving the bars off center line.. Always a compromise :)

Here they're in line with the stem but it's easy to move them

So +8 or even 6 will kill handling on the trails?

Ive seen a couple people on the forum with +6 and it looks like what im wanting.I dont ride real tight trails.

Handle bars feel good where theyre at i flipped the mounts.

And fyi i love that blaster of yours bro id love to do the yz swap eventually!!!Its pretty neat all the stuff guys come up with for these things and nice fab skills bro!

4 or 5 on the swinger. the 400ex shock might bo too soft with ur weight with a +5 swinger, (thats a much longer "lever"). if it is you can always switch it to a z400 shock that is stiffer. the quad will not sit lower, the longer swingarm will make the rear of the machine sit higher up. what would make it lower would be the added leverage compressing the shock more with you on it. with a +4 or 5 and your weight up on the front of the seat you should be able to launch fine on asphault if setup right.

Ok after the holidays im finishing up the kdx rebuild and then stretching the blaster +4 what laundry list of parts will i need to pull this off?

Can i simply buy a banshee chain and it be the correct size?Or do i gotta buy another chain and make one?

Also where do i get the extended brake cable?

And where are you guys getting your swing arms from?Ive seen them on ebay for 250 shipped to my door but the search button on the forum here reveals those are made by the swing arm shop and of lesser quality is this true or am i just reading a few horror stories about them?i seen awk doesnt care for them lol

8 inchis going to turn your nimble blaster into a lumbering ship. its going to be a nightmare to handle on the tight stuff and in my opnion is not worth chasing after just so you can dump the clutch.

i did mine at 3.5inch (85mm) perhaps learn to feather the clutch in a bit, its not necessary to dump it, unless you are trying to impress the birds in the pits.

i'm gonna go against my grains here, and say the swingarm shop swingers may, and do hold up for some,
i've always said i would break one, in what i have to ride in and how i ride, with no fear of breakin myself or bike parts, and blasterfreek30 proved me right on that assumption, as his swingarm shop swinger did not last a weekend here, while right on my ass, as he is a very fast/hard/rough rider also
so.....if money is an issue you here, the swingarm shop swingers are prolly your best choice
would i ride one ??? maybe on a dragger, in sand, or trails without the rocky nastiness i have here

if money is no object, and safety is priority #1, then a ken oconnor racing built
T-Rock swinger is the way to go, as i did, absolutely holocaust proof
but they are less expensive than comparable "professionally built" swingers such as the lone star's ect. < would i run a $600+ roundhouse.....nope, not enuf weld contact from the ears to the carrier and i'd prolly break it too, just my opinion

there is also the option of extending your current stock swingarm, i have one on my sons, it is very well made and you can clearly see, whoever did this was a professional welder , and looks as though no grinding of the welds was done, it has held up for almost 3 seasons now since we've owned it, it also requires the shock mount to be relocated, and that should be done for the shock/ride height you choose, with and without you sitting on it while building it
if you extend, or you have your stock swinger extended, just be sure it gets done right, by a professional welder, your health is riding on it

they are "DIY"s on here showing how to extend your stocker

When I bought my blaster I had 1 mission in mind , make it feel like a bigger bike . Stock form is so short and tippy that with me on it was very unstable .
+4 swingarm , 5" ( 2.5" per side ) rear wheel spacers , ASR +3 +1 long travel a arms
400ex rear shock . When finished my blaster was longer and wider than a 400ex .
I ride the dunes and on hill climbs that +4 swinger kept the nose down for me.
I fully trust the swing arm shops swingers , I rode mine hard and no issues at all . I'm gonna put one on my banshee as well . The only thing about the +4 swingarm is that the shock lower mount is in the stock location , but the added leverage makes the rear feel spongy , I had to crank up the tension on my rear shock to get the right feel I was looking for . If the swingarm shop would move the lower mount an inch forward , it would compensate for that and keep the nose down a lil better on hard launches and steep hill climbs . Good luck with the bike bro
