I noticed today that my stator has five wires coming off of it and my wiring harness only has four. Black, black with red stripe, yellow with red strip and a white with a red stripe. The staor has all the same colored wires and then a green with a white stripe.

I take it the staor is of a 03-06 and my bike is a 97. So what is the green and white striped wire and what do I do with it?

i am pretty sure its the tors wire for the newer style where the tors is integrated in to the ignition, if it runs right id tuck it out of the way and forget about it.

ground the green wire to the frame. and that is per rickystator's website if you look it up you will see it in the directions.
