Any idea's on how to remove the stator (rotor) from my blaster without using the yamaha Stator removal tool (puller).

Thanks

i fished a peice of #12 solid wire in the one hole on the face, around the shaft, and out the other hole, made a about a 2 foot loop, and twisted it together, pull hard on it, while hitting a peice of wood against the shaft to keep from buggering it up, and it came off, i did mine with the motor out, lifted it by the wire, and the weight of the motor was enuf to do it, while smacking the wood/shaft. but you may be able to sit down and put both feet against the frame, pull hard while someone smacks the shaft, or flip it on its side and partially hang it from something to apply the weight to it???
but it can be done

of course the puller's the best way, but sometimes ya want it done today, and if your local dealer/shop doesnt have one, ya either have to wait for one to get shipped, or, you improvise, if ya wanna ride bad enuf!!!!!!!!!!!

i've had to do it a couple of times without the puller..
what i did (after removing the flywheel nut) was i took two prying screwdrivers, one on each side behind the flywheel and had someone put steady pressure on them while i hit the crankshaft with a hammer. after a few hits it pops right off

**WARNING** IF STILL USING CRANK, DO NOT POUND DIRECTLY. i hit the crank directly as it was useless to me and being replaced. to prevent damage to crankshaft, hold a block of wood to the shaft and pound on the wood against the crank.
** BE SURE to get the screwdrivers in a good position before applying pressure against the casing, as casing may break.
** IF ANYONE should break their casing while attempting to remove their flywheel in this way, i am NOT to be held responsible.**

This method can be risky if you haven't had to do it before. In the end, a puller is BY FAR the easiest way to go.

Back in the day us cavemen just used a rock. If that didn't work we just got a bigger rock!! A $10-15 puller is way cheaper than a flywheel. It's called planing. It's not an emergency. Puller for banshee fits blaster plus a boatload of other machines!!

I removed the screws around the outside edge of the flywheel what have i done?

you have now taken the screws that hold the magnets in place....do not turn the engine over, replace those screws with a touch of loc-tite
