Hey guys, hope everyone is well. I have a 98 Blaster that starts up on the first kick every time without choke, but it won't start with choke on. I stored the bike away after I blew it up in '01, but recently pulled it out of storage, rebuilt it, cleaned out the carb and replaced the reeds. It seems to run well though.

Is this normal for any of your blasters? Should I continue troubleshooting?

Appreciate any protips or thoughts you guys have!

Pulling the choke is adding extra fuel to aid in a cold start of the engine. What you described makes me believe that you have enough to start it easily without the help of the choke.

I'd check the air screw on the carb first. It should be 1.5 turns out from lightly seated. That's a good safe starting point. Turning it CW will richen the mixture, CCW will lean it out. There are a bunch of threads here on how to adjust the air idle screw on here.
