got a 99 blaster boarded out to 250, Last time i used my blaster which was a couple of weeks ago it was working fine then i rode it to a friends house shut it off chilled there for a bit then when i went to start it back up it took alot of kicks but then when i went to throw it into first it would go to first the engine would rev then it would go no where. recently i tried starting it the kick start sound a little lounder then usual while kicking down. i try starting it and the headlight is almost fully on but im still getting no answer it also has backfired from time to time trying to start it recently anyone know a solution to this problem?? im not that great with quads and i wanted to ask some people on here before i take it to a shop

Looks like your in for a top end rebuild, do you know how to check compression?
If its not that check the reeds, for any chips or cracks.
Also look for any air leaks to do that just take a bottle of soapy water and put it in areas where air would possibly leak from then kick if you get bubbles in those areas you got an air leak.

check out the reeds and see what they look like first, it could be that otherwise it could be time for another rebuild. also pull the flywheel and take a look at the key that holds it in place, you just might have sheared it off.

there is no 250 big bore kit for a blaster. there is only a 240 and a 265. the 265 is extremely rare.
That being said your bore is likely a 0.50 overbore which is only about a 3cc increase. for example Many people make the mistake of 0.40 being a 240 big bore kit.
A top end rebuild depending on what needs to be done is rather inexpensive. sometimes you can get away with just re-ringing the piston and honing the cylinder. Most of the time though you have to bore and hone the cylinder and get a new piston kit this usually runs about 160 total

do you mean a .040 " over?
yeah the guy I bought my blaster off thought he had a 250 because he had a .50mm piston installed......he has a repair shop with all kinds of crap strung all over the place.. I schooled his ass on pistons sizing geeze all the freaking signs where there and I still bought a blaster from this dumb ass

I guess I was dumber at the moment

sounds like you got some issues with you r transmission/ clutch.... other than that the flywheel key?

I have no idea mostly because the way you ask questions... I am left thinking about headlight and wondering does he have it started and the "answer" is to move forward

please proof read your posts and ask yourself,,, will people understand wtf I'm asking?

lol sorry man i aint that great with perfect english but im still waiting for the compression tester to check that first
