Starting my hydro conversion search

Hubs/Rotors............Same
Calipers..................Three different styles. All bolt up the same
Master cylinders.......Slight differences. Brake light switches and so on. All will work.

I'm not sure I'm answering your question.

Try this... If you broke one of my spindles and I got run over by a bus. You could go to your local Yamaha dealer and buy a factory (hydro) spindle for $185 and all the parts would be compatible for the swap.

Norman, what do you have to do to a set of spindles before they are built and ready to go for the conversion? Do the size of the holes get changed or what? Just curious. I'll be sending you the money for the spindles soon.

Great post, pictures would really help as I have to do a conversion on my daughters 96 and not sure whats all involved aside from welding the tab for the booster.

Have a 660R & 350 Warrior in the shop to look at, but parts seem a tad different, so I been trying to find a Blaster brake setup to alleviate the fabricating end as much as possible.

Mr. Bunny,

I think you are talking about the rears for the tabs, aren't you?

I have a few pics available about the front conversion should you be interested.

In a nut shell...........Fabricate and blanchard grind a backing plate, fabricate a thrust collar to be pressed on, to complete the bearing stack, turn a boss/locating ring for mounting bracket, clamp together as a unit and SHCS together to retain concentricity with the CL of the spindle, bead blast to inspect for cracks, zinc plate to minimize rust and press the thrust collar on.

WOW! This is why I'd just get Norms set! I:I leave the fabbing for the pro's

Never had my hands on a set of YZF hubs, so I'm not sure about compatibility with my conversion spindles. I know the Raptor 660 hubs are not. Otherwise calipers, lines and master cylinders are all a go! The dual piston calipers (ala yzf and raptor 700s) have the same mounting geometry as the single calipers. Waiting on a set of Raptor 250 calipers right now. They look a bit different but I'm betting they will bolt up like all the rest. I'll let you know.

Yfz calipers bolt up to the 660 so the yfz calipers will not bolt up to the blaster.
