spud gun

thats what i did with mine, me and a friend biult a trebuchet and it worked amazing then we had a war across a valley and i won lol i used the spud gun and i had a tepered end and if i shoved somthing smaller down the barrel i would use a oiled wet rag to sealit

k not to make everyone sound like noobs at this but im an expert in this department. i actully have a mini pumpkin chunker. with my 3 in barrel i get 1/4 mile plus launchs for oranges at 40 psi. my small one that we use to throw the oranges is a 30 lb lp grill tank. what i did was weld on 4 inch black steel flage then bolted on a 4 inch butterfly vaulve. lug style so its direct bolt on. then i took a 3 inch reduser to thread on the 15 foot barrel. we shoot orages over my buddies cell phone tower in his field that is 515 feet tall. i had to build a platform cause with me sitting on the tank it would throw me 20 feet backwards at just 40 psi which is the best for acceleration. theres alot of math nivolved to get the right barrel length to get ur weight of object to fly at its fastest point of exit out the barell. then what i did wa put an 1/2 inch vaulve male end with a 100 psi regulator an gauge so i knew when it was filled to the right pressure.

now my bigger one not my biggest is a 200lb lp gaurge lp tank. never ended of finishing that one still sitting out in the gaurge.

ill get pics of my design tomarrow from my buddies place.

My friend and I built one a few years back that used mapp gas and a stun gun ti ignite it. It would punch a nasty hole in a sheet of osb.
I've been wanting to build one of the air powered type lately. I have a 2.5 foot chunk of 4 inch pvc rated for 250psi. That should work for a chamber right?

Ya, that'd be great for a chamber. just get a 4" to 2" reducer and have like a 4' x 2" barrel. and put a screw all the through about 3' down so the potato doesn't fall in the combustion chamber. and for the end of the chamber get a screw on end cap or something to close it off. i'm not familiar with the air powered type
