claremore, OK
since this is a honda question not sure where to put it...

I have a 250x that I just got done rebuilding with a high compression piston. The motor used to be stroked out to 350cc but I took that crank out to return it more to stock specs so my wife could ride it. The previous owner ran 14/33 sprockets on it and with the motor being back to 250cc the gearing seems a little to tall.

What would be an ideal ratio? Stock is 13/39 so could I get a 36 tooth and keep the 14 and gain some pep? It runs really good but just dont have that "snap" to it like it should.

other mods are a full pipe
mikuni pumper carb
web racing cam medium grind
so its putting out a little more power over stock.

haha well I just re-adjusted the valves cause they were ticking so damn loud on the 250x and it turns out I had them adjusted on the wrong stroke so there was like over a 16th gap between all valves meaning they were opening late and not opening fully.

Now this thing pulls hard. I raced it on my blaster and it outruns my blaster off the line and top end.

I'm just gonna keep the gears that are on it.
