So, Installed my idle Kit..

So i installed my idle kit and it all worked out tits. The only thing is when i tap the throttle after i set it to a good idle it starts revving high and higher without touching the throttle. What could cause this? Running lean, sh*t in the carb, Jets, ETC.
I have an fmf ftty/Powercore 2 with a K&N with airbox vents. Im at 3500 feet with a 250 main right now. Go bigger?

i would try a 260, 270, 280 area.....with the pipe filter and vent...i start with the 270, do a plug chop...see if its rich, lean , or just right and report back.....im assuming you no how to do a plug chop

I'd say you are lean, bump it up a size or two and see if it helps, then do a plug chop after you get the idle fixed to make sure you jetting is on.

Yeah thats what im think too. Imma bump it up to an 280 atleast, clean the carb out and take a little more off my idle screw hole.

did you do this idle screw install with the carb on the bike??? you gotta make sure you get all the filings out of it after drill/tapping, and a touch of slicon around the threads should tell ya if your sucking air thru the new screw, and tell dad that 250 is definately lean, way too many guys on here running around 270+ with your mods to be wrong

yup^^^^, your dad is wrong. you will be able to pull a 270 or 280 at least. i had similar mods and was running a 300.

I'm with awk you should make sure the slide bore is free from any rough edges and shavings after drilling

ALso did you try turning the a/f screw in a bit to see if it had effect.

Yeah i blew it out thoroughly with carb cleaner.
Alright ill start with a 280.

but you still gotta get in the barrel where the drill and tap came thru and lightly sand it to get rid of the bur, then reclean it
