now, lets talk more about this "retarded down a gear" comment?
as in diffrent sprockets or actually changing the gears in the transmission? you DO know that you can get more low end by just simply changing the front and rear sprocket sizes right? a smaller front or larger rear sprocket will change your gear ratio and give more bottom end grunt. but you will still maintain 6 speeds on the transmission.
please, elaborate on how you have a 5-speed tranny in your blaster.

you know what, im not sure as im a noob. but the guy i bought from worked at a yamaha dealership as a mechanic and he said he retarded a gear to make it 5 speed for more torque. it was his wife's bike and they only used it in the dunes.

1 remove whel from ATV
2 have tire removed from rim
3 remove current valve stem
4 replace with flush mount valve stem
5 re-install tire
6 re-mount wheels
take the wheels/tires to a shop and pay them about $10 to replace your valve stems if you dont have the tools to take the tires off yourself.
you may want to look into that transmission thing a little more. you may have just bought a blaster with a messed up shift star and got buffaloed into thinking its been "Modified"

well i kind of think he's telling the truth. first of all, he was my neighbor and was a very nice guy. he knew alot about all these quads and they only rode it about 2 times before i got it.
second, lol i have beat all the blasters ive raced on the flats in sand. im kinda impressed by how fast this thing goes for a blaster. im going to look into the whole tire thing/

i know this dont pertain to the topic but actually i rode at silver lake sand dunes in MI with holeshots all the way around for 2 years, and then i went out and baught a set of itp sand stars all the way around and i really couldnt tell a difference in accelleration just in handling. i pulled just as strong up hills flats and anything else and never could feel a better pull on sand tires, compared to those holshots, or turf tires as you called them. taking corners was way better thow, on sand stars. just my input.
i live in wisconsin man.. and where are these dunes located? me and my team want to go and hit some dunes up

i live in wisconsin too in the oconto county the dunes are farther up north near the wildlife.
I've come to FIRM!!! belief that the sand we have here on the coast is some of if not the SOFTEST! sand any where on the planet!
The guys that run the knobbies are ALWAYS! stuck, they just dig holes!
You always see truck and campers out on the beach everywhere else, NOT HERE! you see them buried up to both axles on the pickups just about 20" off of the pavement!

I don't get up to sand lake very often, I ride about 90% at Silicoos (Florence) and about 5% each at Winchester Bay and Coos Bay.

naa dude ill race you but ill lose. lol i never go to sand lake though. ive been there only like twice. gas prices are way too rediculous
