rebuilt my carb yesterday with a rebuild kit, kept all the jet sizes the same and now my blaster seems sluggish. struggles in higher rpms and cant reach the powerband.... everythings stock. it idles perfect and takes off nice.
Sounds like it may be running too rich, What size main jet is it ? What slot is the needle clip in ? Did you adjust the float ? These are a few things you could check. Did it run that way before or is it better since you rebuilt it ? Check your spark plug, is it black (rich) is it a dry white-ish gray (lean) ?
everything is stock the jets are factory specs. i did adjust the float because fuel was leaking from the overflow tubes. needle clip is in the 2nd slot. it ran nice before i rebuilt it. and yes the plug does look rich
When you adjusted the float, were you extremely careful not to depress the spring loaded float needle? This is extremely easy to do and will result in a low fuel level. Screwing up this setting affects everything else.
Also of note, if you take it apart again, you might want to tap out the main nozzle (item #6, page 5-1 of the manual) and clean the little holes in it. I doubt this is related but another member mentioned it the other day, and most people overlook it. It comes out through the slide bore. www.rydindirty.com/blastermanual.pdf
