Sluggish Blaster

If the needle is straight with no scratches or scuff marks it should not need replacing.

Down inside the slide you will notice 2 Phillips head screws, removal of these will allow access to the needle.

It is called the jet needle, it fits into the needle jet.

I owe everyone an apology who had tried to help me with this. ESPECIALLY Larry' Shee who told me something and apparently I. Didn't take the time to listen. Alas I am a newbie. The culprit.... The most simple thing in the world.

Ok here we go again. I got one day of good running out if the thing. If I can get the thing to fire off it runs great. When at idle it will die and then will not restart. No amount of cranking will make it restart. I have tried choke on off and halfway. I just changed the spark plug and rebuilt carby and deleted TORS. so now I am at a COMPLETE loss

semester # 2 :)

sounds like you fouled another plug, they can foul instantly if the air/fuel ratio is too rich.

you must.....

set/check float height:

pilot/airscrew adjustment:

plug chops:

have you checked the reeds ?
checked for good spark ?
check the plug cap for corrosion/burnt up inside at the plug connection, a weak spark will allow the plug to foul easily

Leak test was good, spark plug clean. Can't seem to get the air screw adjusted though. With it screwed all the way in it still runs the same as when it's out at 1.5. At anything above 2 turns out it dies. Plug chops will have to wait till this weekend because I don't have anywhere to ride at WOT by my house.

Depending on your elevation, at 2 turns out and it starts acting up, your pilot jet is to big. But since you are having starting issues, I would clean out your pilot circuit first. But you may need to drop the pilot size.

I just think it's weird that I hAve a stock blaster that would need a smaller pilot size than the stock one. This two stroke stuff is rather complicated lol. Goo to have all the knowledge tho!

Need to look for other causes. I have never seen anyone need a smaller pilot on stock carbs.
Could be worn choke (enrichener circut) plunger.
Could be float level off or leaking float needle.
Shut fuel off, drain bowl catching fuel in clear glass jar to look for dirt. Attach a clear hose to bowl drain, attach to side of carb. Open petcock and mark fuel level, wait for up to an hour and recheck level to see if it has risen.

NIB plugs can malfunction. A good looking plug that sparks while out of engine may not under compression.
Speaking of spark, how does it look?
FAT BLUE
or lazy yellow?

You could have a damaged air screw or carb body causing problems.

I know you've heard it before,8-|:D, but have you tried a new plug? (another)
