Should I remove my air box lid?

Just make sure you ditch the little rubber air horn mounted to the air box lid. this part is very restictive.

Having the air box lid off will act like a bull horn and direct all the intake noise ^UP^ It will get louder in your helmet.

Do I need to re jet if I take the rubber boot off?

NO You'll be fine. No issues.

When you go to a pipe,....then your going to want to go to re-jet

umm yea he will. its changing the amount of air that is going through.

i would just leave it the way it is until you get an a/m pipe. do a pipe and the airbox at the same time, and it will wake up that blasty a little!

Actually you can...BUT.... The three blasters that we have, when they were stock had they're rubber air horns removed, because they actually ran on the rich side with the stock 230 main jet.

I'm at 4,500 feet in altitude,so that might have something to do with it.

Like quadriderten stated, maybe go up 1 jet size......depending on your altitude.

Personally I think going "down" one groove on the needle would help too instead of the jet change.

the all might have a 230 main, but the needle on all of them are mostly different. and yes 230 is rich, for the fact that from the factory, there not gonna tune them. so they just throw a big jet inside.

Removing any restriction in the intake side will change the air fuel ratio.

I would advise that if you do anything there, that you plug chop to confirm.

what kind of tool do you all use for a plug chop, i attempted to do it with hand held tools , but could not,

so pretty much im not going to buy any tools to do this notorious plug chop.....

Well I did it wrong, didn't know I was supposed to cut the end of the plug off. I was just looking at the end of the plug. What jet should I be running with pre mix 32:1 fuel? I have a 240, I think the 230 is in the carb now.
