Shift Star

Will the shift star that cascade makes for the banshee work on the blaster shift drum????

Does modifieng the star by smoothing the points down make it come out of gear easily? What's the advantages ?

my shift star is modded, makes shifting into first gear much smoother, and as flotek said, much less notchy feeling. Your best bet is prolly just send yours out or do it yourself 4mill.

well here is a pic as you can see looks pretty easy, but remember this is the banshee star. I plan on following this pic and using a dremel soon.

seriously though what advantages does this bring, any disadvantages?

probably shifts with a lighter touch. slims your chances of missing shifts. Many motorcycles I've seen have a more rounded type already on.

it is only gain ...and no disadvantage if its done right IMHO ,the roller shift detent arm ca n glide in and over a radii much smoother /faster than over a sharp point ,basicly just a poor factory design that needs imrpoved some

Best is to do it on a mill. But most don't have one of those. I recommend a fine stone on a bench grinder and then a dremel to polish it up afterwards. You will be forever with just a dremel.

hmm i have a grinder just not a bench grinder.. ill put it in a vice and give it a try, i have a spare one on a bottem end so if i mess it up then oh well

I have NEVER seen what the damn mod looks like. im waiting for a pic of a properly modded one to see how much is taken off and what kind of roll is put on.
