Any one make their own bracket for bolting the shee rear brakes on pre 03? is their a way to do it without welding...like using the stock caliper mount and bolting in a piece of sheet metal then drilling holes for where the shee caliper will mount up? or should i just find a 03+ Carrier?

i'd be willing to bet, more guys on here have done my bolt on gsxr kit than buyin all the parts needed to do the shee conversion
and i forgot to mention, you need an 03 pedal/peg, and still need to weld on your frame for master cylinder mounts,
plus the axle/carrier/hub disc/ and the brakes themselves
head to ebay and do the math

Lol prolly i thought all i needed was the brake setup and the carrier which both adds up to about 80$ my cables aRe pos n keep frrezing and either lock em or dont work. You still got the same price tag on yours since i first asked a while back? How much are the replacement pads... Gonna have to get yours eventually.
You need minimum 3/16 plate not sheet metal. I used a Warrior caliper. Hvae to look to see if I could have done it without welding, I welded 3 nuts for threaded spacers welded to plate. I have pre 03 carrier,axle, hub & rotor. Works fine other than I need to re-do pedal, extension to far from pivot, no mechanical advantage over master cyl. And yes I have both floating cali and hub, no problems.
It will take some work to get pics as it's standing in the corner for being a bad boy. Blew the counter balance gear and bearing, chunked the case. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

AWK's GSXR Kit is the best way to go . I didn't use his kit , I actually made my own . It was a near exact copy though and I think It was a grand total of 40 bux . The Gixxer caliper grabs like a pit bull , I was having fun doing panic brake slides down my street after I got it installed . Its a great feeling that you know you can stop =)
YUP , Caliper was 26.00 free shipping , yz 125 rear brake master cylinder and reservoir was 13.00 free shipping , and I used one of my old front hydro brake lines for the rear . Free steel from the weld shop and I cut the bracket for it on the plasma cutter at the shop as well
I have, I used a Warrior caliper but unbolted it at the park brake housing and sandwiched in a plate of steel (1.5"x1/4"x6"???) under the park brake housing and caliper. Bolted plate to the Blaster caliper mount. You have to drill some carefully placed holes, but an easy mod.
M/C and line are from the Warrior too I believe. Had to weld one attachment point to the frame. I'll see about more pictures.

This was a Ninja 250 setup I used for a while. Caliper floats so best with a fixed disk like on the Banshee axle.
My son is in the process of putting brakes on a Banshee axle.
I don't know how we are going to do it just yet, but we'll figure something, maybe use the Ninja setup.
I'm using the awk GSXR brake setup on my Banshee axle. I just shimmed it so the center of the caliper was inline with the rotor.
How good is the stoppin power...? Stop good going from a decent speed...?
Ive heard nothin but good reviews on awks setup.
