Looking for the perfect setup for heavy woods racing and hillclimbs..I have 20's on the back now but have a line on 18 inch holeshots..just wanted to know what gearing wood be the happy medium of top speed and acc. Im currently running stock gearing...when i hit a hillclimb i have to keep bumping the clultch.

i just went riding yesterday and had the same problem. not enough topspeed to keep up on the road but i can run circles around em on the trails. couldnt even keep up with a 250ex on the road.

I would suggest a engine set up with lots of low end and mid range power... It is possible to achieve over 35hp with a huge hit on the bottom without giving up peak power. Its all about getting the combo figured out. A small bore 60mill crank can produce the power that you might expect. The Big bore kits are more explosive, again with the right combo
It all depends on your budget
thanks

i dont want tp get in to rebuilding the motor yet..i have an extra one that is stroked and bored sittin on the shelf and really dont want that in my woods machine. I was hoping that just some cheap mods could get me the power im looking for. i was ridding yesterday with my buddy he has a Warrior and hit just out and out crawled every hill climb we hit..as for me i i could keep the power up with out hit the clutch.

You must have some beastly big hills. I haven't had much trouble climbing hills with 14/40 22's and I'm 300#'s on a stock bike, but I have to stay in 2nd, or 1st if they are really big.

Im currently running stock motor with FMF fatty and a powercore silencer. stock gearing. I have razrs 20's on the rear. I ordered a 13t front sprocket today. The hillclimbs are wicked(the kind you say "you go first" haha)

a 14T front sprocket is not what you want if you are always running out of power... what jets are you running? Are you a big guy?

Everyone says do not get the jet kits, but mine has worked fine. I agree that you probably need to jet it up some to get more power. What about an air filter? and the airbox lid. My blaster tears up hills haha.
