Serious White SMOKE

I just purchased my first 4 wheeler yesterday after nearly 10 years... I bought a used blaster from a guy because it was very cheap... The owner claimed it is bored 50 over and the only thing it needed was brakes...

The Good

The bike starts first or second kick

The Bad
I tried to ride the bike yesterday and when the bike was ridden after 10-20 minutes it would stall as i was downshifting and today
I added a full tank of gas & I bought a Stihl Chainsaw 2 cycle oil pre mixed can it said it made 2.5 gallons so i used it... I asked the guy i bought it from and he said it was fine... I believe thats 32-1 I ran it today for 20 minutes and it stalled then i started after 30 seconds then it sat in my driveway and White smoke started to scream out of the Exhaust like no other and it was bad too... Any ideas what caused this??? The problem could have been there yesterday cause i rode it today for 3 times as long as yesterday... The only other thing i did was throw some oil into the engine i didn't know how to tell if it was low or anything but judging by how this thing looks it wasn't taken very well care off. But it does always start 1st or 2nd kick.. My thought is i can always make it look pretty later after it runs really good

First off, never use weedwacker/chainsaw premix oil!!!!

Second, Sounds like you need new crank seals

Well, you might have just did some damage to that engine. 2 cycle oil. not all is equel.


If you lucky, drain that gas and do it over with some better stuff. 2d I asume you mixed it cuz it has the oil injection block off ?

what oil did you use in the tranny ? atv oil ? not regular I hope.

and before you ride it anymore or run it. do a leak down test !

lets hope its just the wrong oil mix, ect. But I bet you might have blown it. but I dont want to take that leap just yet at guessing.

So what type oil goes in the transmission? and whats type of oil for the gas... I don't need this to be some crazy racing quad i just need something that runs good for my son. So I don't need the best of the best i just need this thing to run decent

Transmission - AMSOIL - SAE 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCF)

Engine - INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil (AIT)

My preferred brand, but gives you an idea as to what you need.

im cheap, I just run atv oil from autozone, for the tranny.

but the 2 cycle oil. i get from yamaha

I Like Klotz Brand 2 stroke mix , Looks cool and Smells Great too , Most use Type F trans fluid , or 10w30 oil in the crankcase

I run ATF type F fluid in the gear box, no particular brand. If you run oil, be sure it's "wet clutch" safe. Blasters came stock with an oil injection system (TORS) and didn't need oil mixed with the fuel. Many remove the TORS so that they can pre mix the oil with the gas. The first thing to check is the status of your TORS system. If it is working, you don't want to add oil to your fuel.

The white smoke could have been because you threw too much oil in the gearbox and expansion has caused it to force through the crank seals.

You must only put 650ml of oil in the tranny, otherwise it may cause problems.

Do a leak down test to see if the seals are intact.

I use Amsoil 10w 30 Signature series (blue bottle) oil for the clutch/lower engine. And Have been premixing amdoil Dominator Racing oil and at $10 a quart it's super protecting oil and pretty clean burning. Meaning things will last longer. But yea like the really old sayings goes victory favors the prepared. Meaning you take care of your bike and she'll take care of you............. But they are probably right about the crank seals I mean it's one of those things where you hope your wrong kinda things...
