Riding and it just died...very little spark

Hi There,

Long time reader...1st time poster here.

My son was riding his '95 blaster this weekend and after about 3 miles it just died. Wouldn't fire after that.

It has gas in it.

Pulled the plug and it's a nice light chocolate color...but...when I try to ground it and turn it over to check for spark I get a very, very, tiny spark. Tried a different plug and got the same. What could it be?

Maybe CDI. It could cause it.

How would I determine if that is the culprit?

Could be coil, stator, cdi unit. I had a coil work then not work then work then completely die. If ya have a manual there is a section starts with page 7-7 and tells ya how to check or here is a link. http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/electrical-help-please-30025/index2.html
