I need some help guys. i have my blasty all together with no airleaks and everything is perfect but it just backfires when i kick it over. I aligned the 0 mark on the stator with the bottom of the lug like i read you are suppose to. is there anything funny with the wiring i don't know. i just matched up the colors and grounded the black wire.

Is this a new stator? What was wrong with old one? If Rick Stators are ANYTHING like RS for Banshees they are junk, sometimes even brand newX(

Check with RS for ohm value for stator and pick-up coil and check yours.

I have a ricky stator I took out of a blasty out in the garage. It was in the blaster for several years and ran fine but the source coil gave up the ghost over the winter.

There are only two screws in the stator plate so the plate can only go two ways. Is the wiring and the little metal plate that keeps the wiring out of the flywheel turned towards the front? I believe that puts the graduated scale pointed towards the back of the engine.... up against one of the little guide blocks (the bottom of the block is 0 degrees)

What year is yor wiring harness??What year stator??I beieve you have a 03 harness and stator and there should be a black wire to hook directly into.A simple ground like you did should work fine also just saying.I run 3 of these and have no problems.Sounds like a stor or carb issue to me.Here is some pics where I sharpied out the tab that you align to.The bottom of that tab is setup for 0 degree.

Alright, so the graduate scale is towards the front LOL! I was trying to do it from memory...

I do remember that the bottom of the guide is 0 degrees (stock) timing.

Edit: I just went out and grabbed the RS stator and dually's right, the "timing scale" is towards the front of the engine.

The ricky stator adjustable stator i got will work on the older and newer blaster ignition, and both ways plug in different, so if its plugged in wrong it wont run... How did you plug it in????

Is this a ricky stator adjustable plate or is it their plate, coils, etc on it?? If it is a ricky stator complete setup throw the coils etc out and use the stock ones.Ricky stator makes some sh*tty as electronics, but the plate is fine.IMO I have seen multiple ricky stator coils go bad.Tons and tons of them on banshees.

That's what I was saying. It seems that within the lastseveral years the quality has gone down the crapper.X(
