went and firedup my girlfriends blaster today and it revs. way the F. up. i looked for an air leak and the only thing i could see was a little crack on the rubber manifold that holds the carb to the engine, but it doesn't look like it's all the way through. any suggestions?

have you tried starting it again?
it might sound like its gonna blow up, then the idles should come back down.
if not then you must have an airleak somewhere.
also try starting it with the choke on full and on half

yeah i sterted it and messed with the idle screw and nothing helped. would the leak be after the carb or any wherein the intake system.

well maybe it would probably be inbetween the carb and jug, so check right where the reeds are, maybe pull that little black boot off and check to see if its got an airleak.

its no airleak if you stilll have the tors on turn down the screw on it its a flathead to turn the idle down and buy a tors elimnator from vitos

I had an airleak, and if u touched the idle at all it would try to self destruct

Mine was the crank seal, Smoke a hell of a lot more than it should. (hince its burning tranny oil)

Dude. I just rebuilt mine and it did the same exact thing today, and i lowered the throttle on the handlebar and it works fine now...

Had the same problem before after replaceing it was fine and know more smoke. lol

That's what I was gonna say, adjust the throttle cable tension where the cable meets the thumb assembly.

thanks for all the ideas fellas, i'll try to adjust the throttle next, can't i just unhook the TORS or do i have to get the block off kit?

you know that ithink of it the wires comeing from the throtle to the TORS are cut, is there any problem with haveing it still on there while being disconrcted.

so today i pulled the carb off and it looked ok then i checked the gasket for the reeds and that was fine and that boot that bolts over the reeds had a crack on the out side but it didn't go all the way through. the only thing i found was that one of the tubes that comes out of the side of the carbs had fallen off so i put it back on and put everything back together and it runs good now. could that tube been the problem or should i be expecting it to strt revving again soon?

You can't really guarantee that one, mine was doing that right after i replaced my reeds with the power reeds, and i didn't know what was going on, cause i knew i didn't have an air leak, turns out the trottle cable was just twisted up some how and it was pulling the slide open a little, so when you'd turn it on, it'd rev way up, the idle screw wouldn't work, you'd hit the gas and it would barely do anything, it was just my throttle cable. So check that. put it all on, then take off the airbox boot, and look down the carb and see how your throttle is adjusted

Sounds like you have the oil blocked off.. That would mean that its running lean from the extra air coming in through that tube, just secure it on there nice and tight and you should not have to worry about it.
