Resto project log

Yeah kinda a cheapo spray bomb candy. Its called metal x I think. Kinda iridescent when sprayed over gold or silver. I used aluminum oxide as the blasting media.

Oh, took about 45 mins to blast all the parts I would guess. Not my favorite thing thats for sure. The wife has been helping all along too. Its her bike, so she has been pretty willing to get in there and work. I must say though that my nozzle finger is KILLING me LOL.

More progress was made today.

i went with the silver underneath tho instead of gold

i wouldnt even whisper durable near it lol i got chips and chunks all over it first ride and brake fluid took a patch off before it was even started, BUT the pic in my sig was only taken about a week ago and it still looks great. i still love it.

I told the wife is she wasnt happy with how it holds up she can feel free to tear it all back down so we can have it powdercoated. Shes like "Uh, I think some chips and scratches will be fine" :D

Thanks for all the comment guys :) Here are the latest progress pics. At this point it is a rolling chassis. I still have some miscellaneous parts to paint, and a few to order, but it is coming along....slowly :)

Ok, so you CAN run an ASV clutch lever on the brake side if you still have a cable setup. What you may need to do is clearance the thumb throttle housing slightly to clear the lever mount. You can see in the next couple pics where it would hit, and where I clearanced it. It's still just barely touching, but I'll take a little more off before I mount it permanently. I still have to polish the Renthals. Now I have to order another clutch lever for the clutch :)

Ok, got quite a bit done today.

Got the new seat cover installed, and I must say it is a really nice cover. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
