has any one ever resleeved a stock jug and could tell me how its really done? Do you have to get the old liner out to put a new one in or do you just bore it out? i plan on doing one but i want to get some pointers before i try it.

Blasty jugs are a dime a dozen no need to re-sleeve.

?? blaster cylinders are becoming rarer every day, soon enough re sleeving will be the only option as there are hardly any stock bore jugs out there. Or buying a new cylinder for $400 from a discount online yamaha dealer:(

all the tooling i have ive just never done a blaster before. like do you have to bore it out all the way down till you hit the casting or just till you can fit the new one in.

dont waste your time and money resleeving a blaster .there is nothing rare at all about them they have been produced for 20years
i jsut checked there is currently 17 cylinders on ebay

ok they are not rare, almost half of the cylinders on ebay now are over 1mm bored over, then you still have to bore it over when you buy it, another good chunk have know idea what bore its at so why buy it and take a risk? ive done that before only to find out it was .080 over. never did it again. another good chunk put the price up way to high for a rather crappy cylinder that know one knows what bore its at, that was my point. but ya you can still get one on ebay, i just did, but i paid 170 for it, its at stock bore and all i need is a piston so not too bad of a deal.

in theory its better to have it one size over becuase a stock bore is usually loose and /or glazed up anyways.

well i guess we will see how it goes when i get the cylinder, the guy says there is a .003 clearance between the bore and piston, if thats true then i will just get a 66mm pistion for it, its said to be cleaned up and honed, if something happens i can bore it out.
