Well since it wouldn't let me post in the thread I'm posting my reply in a new one lol.
The adjustment changes the tuned length of the pipe. Lengthening it will make the resonant pulses long and weak making more low to mid power, shortening the pipe length will deliver shorter/stronger resonant pulses resulting in more peak power. A very neat idea, but I've never done much with the LRD adjustables.

Keep in mind that different tuned lengths will function better with different exhaust port durations, so the adjustability lets you fine tune the pipe to the porting.

it does seem like many people tend to think that a "drag" pipe makes any engine faster. i'm glad to see more threads lately about this topic on a few diferent forums..
