Rear sprocket carrier spinning????

Hey lads, been on the site for a while but only posting now as i couldnt find anything searching! was out on a trail today, and the rear sprocket carrier started spinning on me. the blaster was in gear, and when the clutch comes out it doesnt move but the rear sprocket and carrier just spin around the axel. so i tighetened up the two bolts to the left of the sprocet a good bit, and it drove again grand for about 30mins, then started spinning again.

So what i want to know is it just because the 2 bolts come loose that the sprocket spins, or is there teeth inside the carrier that mate to the axel? and if these are worn is that why it spins? also, if this is the case, will i need to replace the sprocket carrier and the axel, or just the carrier??

sounds like the splines are ate up.. either the splines on the axle or the sprocket hub.
