How strong should the rear brakes be? I know on a car the front brakes are roughly 75% or your braking power with the rears being 25%. I bought my blaster from a buddy who had converted it to hydraulic brakes, the front brakes work great but the rears I wouldn't use for much more than holding at a stop once already stopped. I've inspected the caliper, changed the pads, rebuilt the brake cylinder and changed the fluid, improved slighly but not much. How strong should they be in the first place.

You should be able to lock them up while going top speed but don't do that or you will die....lol just kidding but you might get hurt. what kind of rear brake did you put on there. My stock brake can lock up at top speed but I want to change it soon for something more reliable

Yeah, bleed it well, be sure to get ALL the air out, and it should lock the rear axle when it is working correctly. What kind of hydraulic brake was put on your Blaster? I mean, was it an aftermarket kit, or just a brake system from another quad? Either way it should work well when set up properly.

My stock 2005 Blaster's rear brake will lock the rear axle no matter how fast I am riding. Most of the braking you will need to do when out riding is done with the front brakes, but the rear brake comes in handy when you have to stop suddenly or are going down hills. You don't want to brake too hard on the front wheels when descending a hill, or you will wind up tipping or flipping over.

They came off of a banshee, think it was an 01 but not positive. Yeah, guess I'll just go back through everything and rebleed it, if that doesn't help I'll rebuild the caliper.

HUh? I think ya meant most braking is done with the rears homie. At least mine is! But having front hydro's or any Fronts that work is a God send when doing hills!
