Rear Brakes - Desperately need help.

Ok, I am like losing my mind here and I need some help with my 97 BlasterX(. The cable on my rear brakes snapped (actually the front ring snapped) rendering the cable useless. So, $29.00 and 4 days later, I finally get a new cable. I put it on with no problem, but now I cannot get any response from my brakes at all regardless of many adjustments.

Is it just really easy to mess up the caliper calibration or what? I can't imagine why it would be so hard to get my brakes working properly again.

I noticed that the brake pads themselves are pretty worn, so I did just order those today, but I'm just wondering if there is some special way to calibrate this rear brake caliper.

Any help would be unbelievably appreciated.

One last thing, is it super simple replacing the brake pads? I'm kind of a new Blaster owner. Thanks everyone!

Thanks awk. Anything helps. I'll update ya once I get my new pads.

Is it easy changing the brake pads?

its not bad, a couple little pins to line up, i think that thread will tell ya, if not search for
'rear brake pad replace'
make sure ya clean and grease 'em right

Well I certainly appreciate all of your help. Very nice of you.

I managed to "unscrew" the large pad, but I can seem to get it free. Sometimes it sucks being new to the game hehe.

the pads dont unscrew, try a small peice of wood, and hammer to tap the big one out, and a nail or punch to tap thru the small hole to push the inner one out
