Rear Axle Bearing change

I attempted to change the axle bearings and ran into a few snags. First I was hammering the end of the axle while it was still on the swingarm and got zero movement.
Next I removed the carrier from the swing arm and tried to remove the sprocket hub by itself with a 40 ton press. I ended up heating it red hot and applying 10 tons of force resulting in bending the hub. Still it didn't move at all.
Lastly I tried cutting a slit in the hub to try and split it off. Still this thing won't budge.
I'm about to give up with this thing, does anyone have recommendations on how to get this off?

on 02 and down isnt there a clip that needs to be removed first? edit: nevermind i see you have a 03+...

yah mine is an 03', I hope there is no damn clip lol. I ended up buying a new axle assy from ebay but I would still like to get mine apart.

nah ive got a 04 axle/carrier in mine and when i changed the bearings there was no clip. it came out tough but i got it, its insane you had a press on yours with no results..

Yah I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure the press would have been enough.
Even now when it's cut almost completely in half it will not move. I'm very curious now to see what is holding it in there, but I have run out of ideas on how to get it off.

I had to completely cut mine off and when i did, i gouged the axle with the grinderX(. Mine was treated with pb blaster for over two weeks, tried the heated thing too no good, amazing what years of rust can do!
So i got a good deal off freek and got a durablue.

The stock carrier assy I got off ebay already has a banshee axle on it so its not so bad.

Where did you end up cutting it to get it off?
