R2F's Build and Extended Swing Arm

Lookin good. Nice work! Looks like your into doin things right. I:I Don't know if you've read it yet but Phragle posted a great threat on suspension. Since you haven't decided on the shocks or welded the mounts yet you might end up with more travel for the same amount of work. Everyone's welding up arms but it don't seem like they read his post. He knows suspension. Just sum food for thought :)

I did but this swing arm is not staying it's just a test arm. If I like the 3 over I'll build a new swinger for it. This is just to get it rolling for now also if you look at the first pic there is another weld plate running inside the arm. I put 2 small plug wholes in the tube tacked the plate in place then ground out the weld for where the tubes meet so when I welded it it catches all 3 parts. I aslo got all of the hydro front break stuff from a 2004 blaster for $27.00 shipped. Just need to weld a small tab on the frame to finish bolting on the rear brake master. Then taking the frame to work for sand blasting then paint.

nice bro, i kinda figured u where on ur game by the looks of ur work, real clean stuff there

I think I'm going to use a yfz 450 rear shock. I like that it's longer gives me more to play with kinda get the bike up off the ground some. Depending on where the new mount gets welded on.

they are nice if ya move the mount down....did u check out that link to phragles sus. geometry thread

I did and will follow it. Also I have a friend doing the machine wok so no metal to metal from shock to swing arm. The shock will bolt into a bushing. I don't like loose or clunky things.
